Greetings of the President with the Beginning of the 2020-2021 Academic Year

Dear students,

The 2019-2020 academic year ended with numerous challenges that accompanied us with the spread of the global coronavirus pandemic. Each of us had to adjust to a new reality. With great effort, and a significant investment of resources, we succeeded in transitioning to remote teaching, prepared hybrid classes and built a dedicated application for hybrid learning that enables combined teaching, in addition to many more activities.

Alongside the coronavirus challenges I was happy to see the spirit of volunteering and mutual help demonstrated by many, among them our students, who produced protective masks using a 3D printer and provided them to medical personnel, distributed food packages to needy families and engaged in other numerous activities. I am proud of our students and thank them.

The 2020-2021 academic year began with a 25% increase in the number of new students. We vigorously continue work on building a new campus in Ashdod and establishing an architecture and design professions faculty in Be’er Sheva. I am confident that this will be a special year, full of new challenges, and that we will know better days. It is important to know that the academic and administrative faculty worked hard to adapt face-to-face teaching to remote teaching. They continue their efforts to adapt to the changing reality and are available for any assistance you may need on any issue.

I wish all new and continuing students a good and successful year, a year of strong health and a year in which we continue to engineer a better world.

Yours,
Prof. Jehuda Haddad
President
