“Geotechnical Engineering in Complex Projects,” Civil Engineering

Sunday, 14.6.26 | 9:00-12:00 | Auditorium 110, Jabotinsky campus

A study day in the field of Geotechnical Engineering that will deal with complex projects and unique challenges facing contemporary Israeli engineers. This conference will include lectures by leading land consultants (soil engineers) in Israel, who will present test cases from special projects conducted in Israel, while stressing issues of engineering design, execution and risk management under complex soil conditions. Throughout the conference, the participants will be exposed to a wide variety of typical geotechnical problems in Israel, alongside innovative engineering solutions and advanced methods for coping with them. This conference is meant for students from the Department of Civil Engineering, for young and veteran engineers, land consultants, and members of the public interested in this field. Its primary goal is to provide a platform for the sharing of knowledge, experience and insights between Academia and Industry, as well as to encourage open, professional discussion of current geotechnical issues. Participation in this conference will provide the participants with opportunities to deepen their professional understanding, to gain exposure to practical applications in the field, and to create professional ties with experts and key figures in the field of Geotechnical Engineering in Israel.

“Software 2.0: The AI Edition,” Software Engineering

Sunday, 14.6.26 | 9:00-14:00 | Auditorium 110 & other classrooms, Jabotinsky campus

Generative AI is changing the field of Software Engineering. This event combines several activities from various areas of Software Engineering, such as hackathons requiring generative AI and the presentation of projects with AI assistance. These activities will involve programming, algorithmics, etc.

Guest Lecture and Panel of Graduates, Industrial Engineering & Management

Sunday, 14.6.26 | 10:00-13:00 | Auditorium Z130, Bnei Brit campus

Third-year students (juniors) from the Department of Industrial Engineering & Management are invited to an inspirational lecture by SCE graduate, Tal Yosef, currently working as the Production Planner of the “Ḥets (Arrow) 3 Project” at Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). In addition, there will be a panel of graduates from the department, who will talk about how they integrated professionally into Israeli industry.

Becoming acquainted with the study tracks, Mechanical Engineering

Sunday, 14.6.26 | 12:00-13:00 | Auditorium Z131, Bnei Brit campus

This get together is meant for regular first-year students (freshmen) and second-year students (sophomores), before they choose which Mechanical Engineering specialization track they prefer. At this event, the head of the department and heads of the various tracks will present the conditions for acceptance, the different structures and key subjects of each of these specialization tracks: robotics and autonomic systems; manufacturing and product design; and energy systems. The goal of this gathering is to reveal the nature of each track and to help them choose the most suitable area of specialization for the continuation of their studies and future absorption into Industry.

Exposure to Final Projects, Mechanical Engineering

Sunday, 14.6.26 | 14:00-17:00 | Auditorium Z130, Bnei Brit campus

At this get together, students, soon to begin preparing their final projects, will be exposed to the successful final projects of the previous class. At this event, various project mentors present topics, research fields and possible directions for their work. Later, these students may approach the mentors to check the possibility of working together. In addition, the prerequisites for beginning a final project will be explained. Finally, a list of project topics will be submitted to the departmental office and explanations will be given regarding the summer report and the tasks required for the completion of that report.

An Industrial Conference, Electrical Engineering & Electronics

Monday, 15.6.26 | 10:00-14:00 | Auditorium 110, Jabotinsky campus

Students who have successfully completed the second year (sophomore) and are continuing to the third year (junior) in the Department of Electrical Engineering & Electronics are introduced to the five specialization tracks. For each of the five tracks, a successful industrialist is invited who works in the same area as that track. That expert will describe to the students what is actually being done in that occupational area of the labor market: the likelihood of being hired; opportunities for advancement; wages; and whether that specialization is worthwhile.

Lectures within the framework of the course: “An Engineering Project,” Civil Engineering

Monday, 15.6.26 | 11:00-13:00 | Classroom Z128, Bnei Brit campus

In the context of the course: “An Engineering Project,” third- and fourth-year students in the Department of Civil Engineering experienced a mini-research project. They conducted literature surveys, did experiments, processed findings, wrote academic papers, and communicated the results to the public. At this event, they will give lectures on various research topics. Lead lecturer: Dr. Amit Kenny.
