Additional Programs
Throughout the years of its existence, SCE has conducted a diverse and wide range of international activities. For example, as part of the entrepreneurship internship program at the college, a team of six students traveled to University of Nevada, Las Vegas, UNLV, for a period of 35 days, during which they attended various innovation and entrepreneurship workshops. Each of the students joined a research group headed by a leading researcher in a specific engineering field.
In addition, during this past year, the mechanical engineering department conducted "Mechanical Engineering Week", in collaboration with delegations of lecturers and students from India, Portugal, Singapore and the USA. Two competitions were held during this week: one competition dedicated to finding tangible solutions for industrial engineering problems – which featured companies such as Soda Stream and Netafim – conducted in a hackathon format called "Mechathon 2017"; in the second competition, called "Dead Sea Competition", students built robots that are suited for an aquatic environment. Students from various international academic institutions participated in both competitions, which were judged by representatives from international institutions as well.
