Hackathon “Keeping the City Up2Data”

Shamoon College of Engineering (SCE) and the Department of Software Engineering are pleased to invite you to the “Keeping the City Up2Data” Hackathon, in cooperation with the Center for Digital Innovation – CDI Negev and the Be'er Sheva Municipality as part of the Digital City project (Smart7), supported by the Headquarters for the National Digital Israel Initiative, Ministry of Social Equality.

The hackathon will focus on ways to improve the residents' quality of life by improving accessibility to the existing information in the municipal databases through the use of different IoT technologies, as well as database enrichment by the residents themselves.

The emphasis in this Hackathon is to find a technological-engineering solution that combines social, ecological, and educational vision.

The participants are required to have programming, design, and "out of the box" thinking capabilities in order to provide and implement a creative and innovative solution that will meet the criteria of quality software development. The products will be presented after 24 hours of continuous work; the winning team will be announced by the judging committee composed of industry and academy representatives.

We invite students from all departments and educational institutions, entrepreneurs or designers, environmentalists, and community members who believe in the development of the smart city.

Please join the event and register today!

The Hackathon will take place at the SCE campus in Beer-Sheva, April 24-25 2018.
