Cooperation Agreement with UEMF University in Morocco
SCE Shamoon College of Engineering signed a cooperation agreement this week with one of the leading universities in Morocco – UEMF Euromed University of Fes.
The cooperation agreement includes cooperation in the academic research field, submitting research proposals to the EU and promoting student and faculty exchange delegations.
The agreement was signed by the President of UEMF University, Prof. Mostapha Bousmina, and on behalf of SCE the President of the college Prof. Semyon Levitsky and the college Rector, Prof. Jehuda Haddad.
UEMF University, located in Fez, the second largest city in Morocco, operates under the High Honorary Presidency of His Majesty the King, Mohammed VI. The agreement, which was signed between the University and SCE, the largest engineering studies college in Israel, is the product of the relationship forged between the two academic institutions on the backdrop of the warming diplomatic relations between Israel and Morocco. The relationship between the two institutions gained momentum after the normalization agreement signed between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Government of Israel in December 2020, followed by the opening of the Israeli embassy in Morocco just one month later.
Prof. Jehuda Haddad, Rector of SCE Shamoon College of Engineering: “As entities located in the shared geographic area of the Mediterranean Basin, we have shared interests. The agreement that was signed will help the two higher education institutions improve, expand and deepen academic research and develop research programs. I am convinced that the warm relationship forged between the parties will serve as a bridge between the cultures and will help develop interpersonal relations between the Israeli students and faculty members and their colleagues in Morocco, and will of course contribute to strengthening the peace process and relations between the two countries”.
