SCE opens the 2019-2020 academic year

Thousands of students entered the college gates, and hundreds began their journey in the engineering world * With the start of the academic year we initiated a survey to examine: to what extent parents influence their children’s choice of study field and support them financially

The new academic year, 2019-2020, opened at the Sami Shamoon College of Engineering. 5.500 students began the academic year, among them 1,500 new students entering the halls of academia for the first time. The new year is an opportunity to present new courses that will be offered this year in the aim of providing SCE students with the best preparation for the changing work world that awaits them after they complete their studies.

The new courses are also based on the Project Oriented method which includes studies alongside practical experience that simulates the work world. Thus, for example, in order to prepare students for the changing technology market, software engineering students will be able to choose a course about Blockchain, virtual currency and online business transactions. In this course students will learn about the technology and its different applications, as well as data protection, smart contracts, and more. is “Green Building in Israel” is another course opened this year for chemical engineering students. The course aims to familiarize students with the green planning and construction approach with respect to protecting and understanding the environment and to acquaint them with technological and planning abilities in this field.

Prof. Jehuda Haddad, SCE President, welcomed the students with the opening of the academic year: “Every year I am excited to open the academic year and welcome the thousands of returning and new students to the college. I believe that this year our students will once again lead revolutionary projects for a better future. I wish all of us a successful year, a year of inventions and finding solutions, and mainly a year of studies and personal development”.
