A Meeting of the Academic-Industrial Forum

SCE’s Dept. of Civil Engineering is inviting representatives from companies and offices in the construction field to meet with the department’s academic faculty members. This meeting will be held on Thursday, 28.11.2024 at 17:00 on the Be’er-Sheva Campus.

At this meeting, together, we will discuss its primary goal—to initiate an Academic-Industrial Forum, meant to promote cooperation between the academic world and market demands.

An ongoing connection between Academia and Industry can greatly contribute to the following aspects: coordination between learning contents and market development; promotion of joint research that benefits industry; joint conferences; location and hiring of various lecturers and mentors; increasing the number of practical student field trips; more, varied guest lecturers; more seminar lectures and more student exposure to additional, extracurricular subject-matter; greater access to employment opportunities; more opportunities for industrial scouts to hire suitable student apprentices; more student scholarships; etc.

This is the chance to be part of the process preparing the next generation of Engineers.
