Thinking regionally
This Wednesday morning, 6.11.2024, on SCE’s Be’er-Sheva Campus, the SCE School of Architecture will hold its First Annual Conference on Regionalism. As an inherent part of the Negev region, SCE is raising the banner regarding ‘thinking regionally’, as an outlook, as ethics, and as a central subject-matter for study and research. The School of Architecture instigated this conference to lift Negev Regionalism to the top of the present agenda, signalling the start of a process meant to study, understand, and guide how we think regionally.
During the first section of the conference, there were meetings between various experts, academicians, and other researchers and promoters of Regionalism in Israel over the last decades, in areas ranging from government; urban and regional economics; environmental studies; and physical planning. In the second section, the principal regions in the Negev were discussed at brainstorming workshops—towards planning functional and prosperous regional spaces.
This conference will take place in Minkoff Auditorium in the Sami Shamoon College of Engineering (SCE), on the Be’er-Sheva Campus, located at 56 Bialik St.
