Industrial Engineering and Management

The responsibilities of an industrial engineer include a wide array of topics and disciplines, including: manufacturing planning and supervision, information system analysis and operation, methods for defining quantitative and qualitative indices, quality management, personnel and machine regulation, project management, manufacturing engineering, planning and operation of warehouse arrangement, purchasing, inventory management, robotics, performance research, economic feasibility studies, strategic consulting, marketing, human resources management, and more.      

During their third year of studies, and based on the department’s program requirements and their accumulated credits, students will be divided into three specialization tracks:

• Engineering Project Management – In this unique track, students take advanced courses in project management and construction, software and industry, a laboratory in project management, how to use software to monitor and control projects, techniques for summoning projects, and more. 
• Information Systems - This track trains students to take on the important role of being responsible for mediating between organizations’ business and administrational activities and the computerized information systems that support and enable these activities.
• Industry Systems (Be'er Sheva Campus only) – This track trains students to work in the field of heavy industry, assuming positions that require knowledge, technology, and use of automation, robotics and embedded systems for industrial applications.

Students who have successfully completed the program will be employed in their profession, assuming a wide range of positions in various fields. Our graduates currently fill key roles and senior managerial positions in some of the country's leading industries, such as: hi-tech, electronics, chemistry, food, and the security industry, to name a few. They are also successfully integrated in private companies and public organizations, as well as academia in Israel and worldwide. A study conducted amongst SCE graduates of the program has shown that 88% of them are successfully employed in their profession, while 10% have continued their studies to pursue a graduate degree.

• Industry – This track trains students to work in the field of heavy industry, assuming positions that require knowledge, technology, and use of automation, robotics and embedded systems for industrial applications.

• Engineering Project Management – In this unique track, students take advanced courses in project management and construction, software and industry, a laboratory in project management, how to use software to monitor and control projects, techniques for summoning projects, and more. 

SCE has created the graduate program in Industrial Engineering and Management for those individuals who seek to improve their professional offer and enhance their position and appeal within the marketplace. This program trains engineers for senior management positions, providing them with comprehensive and updated knowledge as well as advanced tools for solving engineering challenges.

The program's curriculum comprises a variety of innovative engineering methods, advanced technologies, management processes, and additional tools and skillsets that will assist in promoting graduates within the market, while increasing their chances of securing key positions in business, industry, public organizations, research or academia.

The degree granted through this program offers its graduates a wide-ranging organizational view for the development, application and implementation of improved solutions for complex systems. This answers the growing need of organizations who seek to improve their internal planning processes, and to make better logistics and strategic decisions. The program's curriculum has been designed to assist industrial engineers to implement their engineering knowledge while leading complex projects and technological and managerial processes in their workplace.  The department accepts outstanding undergraduate students who are nearing the completion of their degree, allowing them to take graudate courses while finalizing their undergraduate studies.
